A Rich History

Since our founding, our Firm has played a central role in the technology sector and the entrepreneurship ecosystem. In addition to our leading technology practice, initially formed in the 1990s, our lawyers have for decades taken on leadership roles in various organizations. For example, Founding Partner Noyan Turunç was the only lawyer to speak and deliver a paper at the 1st Technology Congress of Turkey in 1998, organized by TÜBİTAK (Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey), TTGV (Technology Development Foundation of Turkey) and TÜSİAD (Turkish Industry & Business Association — Turkey’s most influential business association). Continuing the tradition, practice co-head Kerem Turunç serves as a co-chair of the Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Working Group of TÜSİAD.

Legaltech and Beyond

We are early adopters of new technologies and do not shy away from testing, or collaborating with and taking a stake in developers of legaltech products and other technologies that occupy an adjacent or complementary space, such as finance, accounting, human resources and public policy.

Our internally developed proprietary tools help automate many routine and time-consuming tasks, and provide clients with speed, accuracy and savings. For example, our unique cap table management tool has been used successfully in hundreds of fund raising and complicated M&A transactions, and has saved thousands of hours of manual work.

In addition to our proprietary tools, we also collaborate and partner with developers of cutting-edge technologies. Our collaborations and partnerships may take different forms such as obtaining an equity stake in startups, serving on their boards and advisory boards, and helping them expand internationally through our network and our acceleration program.

For example, coupled with our equity stakes in 10BE5, an automated capital markets-related drafting and diligence workstreams provider, DeepZen, an AI-based text-to-speech company, Lexpera, an online legal research portal and Wellbees, a corporate well-being platform, among other companies, our lawyers advise these companies in various capacities.
