Professor Melda Sur is an of counsel of the Firm.
An expert in labor law and international Law, she also presently serves as a professor at İzmir University of Economics and head of the Private Law Section of the law faculty there.
Melda Sur graduated from the Strasbourg University Faculty of Law (maîtrise) and obtained her Ph.D. title at Ankara University, becoming an associate professor of labor law in 1990 and a tenured professor in 1996 at the same school.
After serving as Chair of Labor Law and Social Policy at Ankara University, she also served as a tenured professor at Dokuz Eylül University, where she served as head of the Labor and Social Security Department, head of the International Law Department, and head of the Private Law Department. She was also a member of Dokuz Eylül’s Senate for two terms.
Professor Sur has also taught comparative labor law and international law as a guest professor at the Bordeaux University.
She is a board member of the Turkish Association of Labor and Social Security Law and member of the International Society for Labor and Social Security Law. She is also on the scientific board of the Revue de Droit comparé du travail et de la sécurité sociale.
Fluent in French and English, Professor Sur is widely published in the fields of labor law and international law, having authored numerous books on labor law and public international law, and articles published in Turkish, French and English scientific reviews.
She is the co-author, with Noyan Turunç, of the Turkish chapter of International Labor and Employment Laws published by the International Labor and Employment Law Committee of the Section of Labor and Employment Law of the American Bar Association, and of the Firm’s book Turkish Labor Law.
